Douglas MacDiarmid

Douglas MacDiarmid is an acclaimed New Zealand artist with an international reputation and painting career spanning seven decades. His artwork is sought for its diversity of style and vibrant colour. Born in Taihape and schooled in Timaru, he lived in France from the 1950s and continued to push new creative boundaries into his 90s. He passed away in Paris on 26 August 2020 at the age of 97.
